How do we earn our money?
Germans Travel is a travel agency. This means that we purchase tours, activities and accommodations for a lower price than a traveler does themself. The difference between the gross price and the net price is called commission. The amount of the commission, and/or the commission percentage, depends on the different systems, integrations and agreements that we have in place with the companies who we work with. In general, this is 10% to 20% for us.
Example:
Janine buys a K'gari / Fraser Island tour for $499 with Germans Travel. She uses her discount code and gets $37 off. She pays $462 with iDeal in our webshop.
We receive the booking and it will be confirmed with the Fraser Island Tour operator. We pay them $399. We then also pay the API and payment gateway fees.($2). Our profit is $61 dollars.
How can you earn money?
The affiliation works through personal URL links to the products and packages we offer on our website. Example: You write a blog about K'gari / Fraser Island, and include a link to the K'gari / Fraser Island tour. If your website visitor actually buys this tour, you will be paid a part of our profit. Example:
Janine found us because she saw your blog on Instagram and started reading. She clicks on the Fraser Island tour link in your blog. A cookie is currently being placed on her computer. Every purchase she makes on our website is now tracked and will be linked to your affiliate account for 30 days.
As soon as she has paid you will see this in your own dashboard and you will receive 10% of our profit. So in this example it's $6.10. This amount will be paid out after Janine has traveled.
How do we pay you?
We will pay you after the traveler has used their product. This is to avoid refunds if they cancel the tour or if something happens during their trip. We pay once per quarter. You are expected to send an invoice containing the amounts of the various purchases. It is important that you send us your bank account details. We can pay you in Euro, CAN, NZD and AUD.
How do you get to your Affiliate Dashboard?
As soon as you have registered, you will receive an email from us with login for the affiliate dashboard. You can change this login yourself later.

You will then arrive at the Dashboard. In this overview you can see how many bookings you have made, how much commission you have earned, and how many people have clicked on your links.
How do you generate your own affiliate links?
We have a large number of products and packages on our website. It's up to you to decide which products you think would suit your readers.
You can use the search function at the top right, or scroll through the list. Once you've found a tour you'd like to promote, click Copy Link. A German link will become available for you, and where we have done the translation: also a link in English.
As soon as you have shared the link (this can be via a blog, or via social media) - in “viewed affiliate links” you will see an overview of all links that have been placed in your own content, and how often they have been clicked / viewed.
Once they are booked, you can also click “Bookings” in the left menu - and you will see an overview of the booked tours + the commission you have earned.
How do you become a member?

What do we do to help you?
It is of course also important to us that you earn as much as possible, and we would like to help you with that!
After filling in our registration form you will immediately become a member of our affiliate community. Our community consists of an email group where you will receive an email from us about once a quarter, where we will let you know what the new products are, which new packages are online, and where we give you tips for SEO / writing blogs so that you can get more out of this deal.
Can I also earn more than 10% of the commission?
Yes, that's possible. The first three months of our affiliation is a trial. Then we work together towards the highest attainable result. The increase of a commission is accompanied by a target. The target is based on gross prices and is monthly. If you make it, the next month will go up in percentage.
Gross $0 - $1000 - 10%; $1000 - $2000 - 12.5%; $2000 - $4000 - 15%; $4000 - $7500 - 17.5%; Above $7500 - 20%
Can your readers also get a discount code?
Yes they can! Let us know via the form which name you want to use for your discount code and we will create it for you. In the dashboard you can also see clearly when this code is used. The code can also be used by your visitors when requesting a custom-made travel plan.
What happens if someone requests and purchases a custom itinerary through your links?
Itinerary requests cannot be tracked through our affiliate system, as these are custom products. However, we do have a CRM program (Customer Relationship Management program) in which we keep track of who came to us through which medium. We will report on this every quarter and see which travelers have booked and traveled with us via your platform. We then pass on these payments to you via email, so that you can add them to your invoice. So if you also want to give your website or Insta visitors the opportunity to request a travel plan, clearly indicate that they must mention your name when applying or let them use a discount code.
