The Whitsundays are an archipelago of 74 islands and have a true paradise feeling to them. Get ready for endless beaches with sand whiter than you have ever seen. The Whitsundays are a perfect playground to swim in crystal clear water and snorkel between colourful fishes. The ideal way to discover the Whitsundays is on a boat but which one? Which one is the best boat for you to discover the Whitsundays?

In this article we have put together an overview of the 11 most popular Whitsunday boats and what to think about when choosing which one is best for you. Most people go on a 2 days/ 2 nights boat trip for enough time to explore, relax and get into the paradise vibe the Whitsundays have to offer. All boats come inclusive food and non alcoholic beverages but you can BYO (bring your own drinks) if you like. Which boat is the best for you depends on your personal preferences: Are you a party animal or do you prefer a relaxed atmosphere with a small group of people? Would you like to do some sailing yourself or do you prefer chilling on the sundeck?

Have a read through the below listed descriptions of the boats and/ or contact us directly to get free advise on the most suitable boat for you. Our service is 100% free and independent and we can guarantee at least the same (or a better) price than through the tour provider directly.

3. Eureka

Number of people on board: 14
Average age: 28 years old

Eureka is the only boat in the Whitsundays that still actively participates in sailing! The owner (61) is a passionate sailor and drives the boat himself. If you really want to learn how to sail, he is the best instructor you will ever find. The boat itself is beautiful and clean and the food served is healthy and delicious. On Eureka the groups are usually a good mix of people but the boat is definitely no party boat. If you are absolutely not interested in sailing, you should check out one of the other options.
Nice extra: The trip on Eureka takes half a day longer than other boat trips to the Whitsundays, so you can enjoy the sailing adventure a little longer.

4. Boomerang / Condor / British Defender / Broomstick

Number of people on board: 26 to 28 persons
Average age: 24-27 years old

These kind of boats are all former sailing boats and guests are welcome to help with the sailing. The young and enthusiastic crew is very encouraging and makes sure there are good vibes on board. On these boats there are only single and double accommodations. In combination with the structure of the racing boats the sleeping places are quite narrow, but still good for 2 nights. Depending on the group, the trip can be a big party or very quiet.

6. New Horizon

Number of people on board: 32 persons
Average age: 23 years old

New Horizon is the "sister boat" of the Clipper and looks very similar. It fits in the same category of boats and is maybe a little bit less luxurious as it also has no Jacuzzi. One of the biggest differences to the Clipper is that the crew does not participate in the drinking games. Haha. New Horizon is a great compromise for those who love a party but prefer smaller groups!

7. Tongarra & Habibi

Number of people on board: 22-28 persons

Tongarra (catamaran) and Habibi (sailing ship) are the cheapest party boats you can find in the Whitsundays. If you like, you can sleep on deck under the stars. They are probably not the best option if don't like loud music, but good for people who like to have a dance. As both boats are a bit old the quality is not the best but the price is great and the atmosphere on board is amazing!
